Portable - Is a Portable App, can be got from PortableApps. These are for external HDD and ThumbDrive. Data-Settings are portable and hence manageable.
How to test portable ?
Install in a Temp folder. Copy temp folder to another drive and rename it as you wish. Uninstall program from the Temp folder. Check if the program in the new folder works. If Yes, then it is Semi-Portable. Take this program in a Thumb-Drive and try on another system, if the data and settings are intact, it works! then it is fully portable. User preferences like panels/data and toolbars may not be portable in all.
